Azerbaijan – Land of Fire?

Azerbaijan’s economic trajectory has been defined by its hydrocarbon wealth. Oil and gas revenues have driven rapid increases in GDP per capita since the early 2000s, but these gains have translated only partially into household welfare. The result is a persistent gap between national income and broadly shared prosperity, reinforced by limited diversification beyond the energy sector.
